This painting measures 20" x 20" and is done on square, deep edged canvas. As it is painted around the sides, it requires no frame. The story is this; while driving with friends through countryside in the West of Ireland I spotted these two beauties in a nearby field and demanded to be let out to photograph them. I shot off, deaf to the outraged cries of my companions, on whom I apparently unleashed a million midges as I left the car! These ponies were extremely curious and friendly, so I titled the work "Curious Companions". I am on a promise to return to them with carrots one day, since they posed here for free!! The whole painting is very 3 dimensional and vivid, exemplifying the beautiful rich greens Ireland is so renowned for.

I am an English Artist living in the beautiful West Sussex countryside. I have been painting and doing commissioned Portraits for most of my adult life. Notable work has included series commissions for the CBS television network in LA and in 2015 a very large canvas of the rapper “Drake” with twenty people for his LA home. This was featured on BBC radio Surrey and in numerous Music and Rap magazines that year. A few years ago, one of my Arabian horse paintings was purchased by the Royal Court in Riyadh. This was a purchase I felt very honoured by, since the Middle East is the true home of this breed.
I grew up in Africa where my twin passions as a child were Wildlife and Magic. Later, in London, I was a Studio Artist and then the official "Flower Fairy" Artist for "Dragons of Walton Street" (London designers of high end children’s furniture) for eight years before leaving to follow my own paths in Art. After spending a year in France in the Studios of Master Realist, Ted Seth Jacobs, I later did some further Classical studies at the "Angel Academy" in Florence. These were both wonderful learning experiences which gave me techniques I could use to better express my personal vision in painting. I have exhibited with several Art Groups and Societies, including The Society of Women Artists in Westminster and The Association of Animal Artists. I have had a few solo Exhibitions at The Chequer Mead Art Centre in East Grinstead and The Hawth Theatre in Crawley
I work mainly in Oils and Pencil but sometimes in Acrylic and Water colour too. I give private tuition in Drawing and Painting and run an Art Group in my home town in West Sussex. It is wonderful to share such knowledge as I do have and I find the teaching experience cuts both ways as I learn a lot too!
. I would say my current work is about expressing the beauty of both Nature and Animals, often with a little magic and imagination added! I try to paint from life as often as possible, at least initially. Almost all my animal subjects are painted from my own photographs, taken of them in as near natural an environment as possible. Lately I have also enjoyed exploring the mythical aspects of the relationship between humans and wild animals, a subject which has long fascinated me.
