In my oeuvre, I explore interrelations. Nothing ever happens by itself. There is always something between two objects, no matter how small or large they are. People call this something “attraction”, “indifference”, “opposition”, “love” or “hate”.
However, this is nothing but interpretation. People's world, the world that we observe, perceive and conceive, is the world of relationships. In my works, I strive to capture the fine thread that knits together all things, to follow its trace, which is twisty, tangled, but never ending. Either during life, or after it.
The central character of my works is Moreau. The world soul, the part that is present in every organism, every cell and every atom. The force that fills the world with the breath of life and is its linchpin.
My oeuvre has been greatly influenced by masters of science fiction, i.e. Ray Bradbury, Lao She, Robert Sheckley, Alexander Belyaev. In their works, I saw the same theme of interrelations. They showed that the answers I am looking for are not always out in the open and are not that obvious, as they seem at first glance.
I work with acrylic paints on natural linen canvas. It represents a connection between the manmade and natural worlds to me. Their combination allows creating something new.
After the theme of a series of works has been defined, I proceed to study the attitude of philosophers, scientists and artists to this issue. I analyze attitudes, public memes and discourses.
I create volume roughly using a lot of contrast between light and shades. My purpose is to make the onlookers immerse themselves deep into the work, to generate a desire to look deeper. First - behind the characters, then - deep into themselves.
I want the onlookers to take the silence with them after watching the work.
The silence that is the beginning and the end of everything that was and that will be.
