On my driving way from Yosemite to LA, I could find a big pine tree, apart from at the bottom of which was broken and peeled off for some reason surviving the weather well enough to alive itself on a hill near Paso Robles, California. I admired the vitality of the tree. After I returned, I painted it in the studio from the photo I took focusing on the tree with a beautiful sunshine typical to California. I tried to express that this pine tree endured all the weathers long time standing alone against the shiny background typical in California.

I used to be a chemical engineer, a businessman in the petroleum/gas industries and retired as a CEO of a construction company. But now I'm just a humble artist, a painter. I am very proud that I'm an artist as I'm enjoying my role in the world creating artworks, a new world of my own on the canvases.
