The content of this painting, the character and dimension of the content are to be kept permanently secret, known only to the artist.Mohan Pugalenthi ( born in 2002 ) is a Contemporary Tamil artist who comes from a small town in Tamil Nadu, who studied in the English program at the Faculty of Painting and Drawing at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts in Poznan. Pugalenthi graduated from the IB Career program in Arts at the International School of Geneva in Switzerland and then moved to Poland, where he currently resides.
Born into extreme poverty in central India, he lost his father shortly after his birth and was raised by a gravely ill mother. Fast forward 20 years later, a thriving student of Fine Arts in his final year at the Faculty of Painting and Drawing at Uniwersytet Artystyczny w Poznaniu. Mohan Pugalenthi’s artistic journey began 10 years ago when, for the first time, He visited his Polish patrons in Singapore for Christmas. A gift of crayons and a drawing pad changed his life and allowed him to discover and devote his life to the arts.
With the support of his patrons and a host of people of goodwill he was admitted to and graduated from the International School of Geneva (Ecolint) with the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (Arts) and Business and Technology Education Council in Art and Design diplomas. The next stage was Poland and admission to the University of Arts in PoznanĚ.
UAP and Ecolint had a phenomenal impact on his artistic development. What's more, growing up in India and the possibility of living in Switzerland and Poland, the international context of his school and studies allowed him to observe various cultures and appreciate the common element that connects them - humanity in its physical and spiritual dimension.
His experiences have been reflected in the art he creates. Each piece he creates is both a reflection of the past - where he has come from and what he has learned and a look into the future - where he is heading. As Mohan Pugalenthi says, “I don’t limit myself to a single media, style, or notion. Ideas and inspiration come and go. I enjoy the idea that form doesn't always need to have a function, even though function and form have to work together.”
Among the various techniques he applies, Pugalenthi states that the use of lines gives him the greatest satisfaction. In the portraits or silhouettes he draws, He tries to convey movement and the pulse of life more than just shapes. This specific way of drawing allows the viewer to focus not only on the portrait or silhouette itself but also on the details that make it up. In his abstract works inspired by the concept of extraterrestrial life, He creates faceless portraits, focusing on the emotional experience of the recipient and encouraging the viewers of his art to abandon what they know, and instead explore the possibilities of what may be!
