An ironic vision on man, on the continuous search for freedom, to "fly", through a contextual investigation into the expressive potential of the body.Roberto Fontana was born in Cambiano (Italy) in 1969.
He performed his first artistic studies in Palermo, where he currently lives and works.
In 2000 he studied in the class of painting and drawing with the Chinese artists the Zhou Brothers at the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Hallein, Austria.
In the same year, in Palermo, he took part in the workshop of engraving and printing under the French masters Rene Taze and Elisabeth Bascou.
Also in Austria, in 2001 and 2002, he studied at the International Summer Academy in Salzburg, first in the class of gestural painting of Hermann Nitsch, winning a scholarship, then in the class of painting and drawing of Jacobo Borges.
From 1999 to 2001 he followed the course in techniques of engraving and lithography of the Free School of Nude at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo.
In 2006 he collaborated on the sets and costumes for the stage musical "Corleone – La storia di Filippo Latino".
In 2016 he was invited to make the wine label for the 25th Anniversary of the bottle by the Alcamo Rotary Club.
