Maryam (Sadaf) Kobari was born in 1957 in Iran. She has been a professional architect since 1980. She began painting at a very young age when she was in high school. She practiced painting under the guidance of Faramarz Pilaram, Aydin Aghdashlou, and Ali Faramarzi. Since 2011, she has been continuing her practice in abstract paintings under Nosratollah Moslemian guidance.
The main inspiration for her artworks is the glory of ever-changing nature. She turns her mindful vision of nature into abstract images, each focusing on a specific color spectrum and overlapping brush strokes. “Change” as a characteristic of nature is a very interesting subject that leads us towards self-recognition and self-awareness. Sadaf’s paintings are not simple reflective illustrations of nature, but they represent humans' footprints in nature formed by the repeated integration of monochromatic and two- dimensional geometric elements in her paintings.
