This painting depicts the edge of our galaxy viewed from the ground. The image of it online looks kind of odd because it was difficult to get a photo of a painting with such skewed dimensions. The piece is heavy in blacks and phthalmo blue, giving a very rich feeling and making the galaxy horizon pop. There are also patterns found in the trees that can only be seen under certain lighting conditions. This piece was done on 1/2 inch thick wood and therefore is fairly heavy. For hanging purpose, it will need to be mounted on the wall.
